Getting to Know the Professionals: Quinn Kimiko Tsuji

October 7, 2020

Quinn Kimiko Tsuji is a Toronto-based Real Estate agent with PSR Brokerage. Born and raised in Toronto, Quinn views the city through the savvy eyes of a true local. Having lived in some of the city’s most coveted areas including matured neighbourhoods like Moore Park, Rosedale and the Annex, as well as hot spots Little Italy and King West, Quinn knows the market intimately. We chatted with Quinn about the market and what she thinks is coming for Toronto next.

-------

PRC: Tell us about yourself and what you do.

QKT: So happy to be here :) my name is Quinn and I am a Toronto Real Estate Sales Representative.

I help a wide range of clients both local and international with all of their Real Estate needs in The City of Toronto.

From purchasing and selling your first, second and sometimes third home, to the buying and selling of clients investment properties as well as representing both landlords and tenants…I'm a Toronto girl, born and raised in the city and I take pride in knowing the neighbourhoods, buildings and streets intimately. Helping people with all their Toronto Real Estate needs is what I do !

PRC: How did you get into real estate?

QKT: I started at PSR and in the industry when I was 19. I’ve grown up in it and alongside my clients.

I started working the front desk of Fashion House Condos sales centre in 2008 (omg!) and from there worked my way up and eventually got my license. I am still with the same company I started with - almost 12 years later.

It was an easy decision for me. I knew I wanted to be in Toronto (I did not leave for University unlike a lot of my friends) and build a business here and grow my network. Real Estate seemed like the perfect match. I love buildings and architecture and the story behind them, structures and homes as well as meeting people from all different walks of life, hearing their stories and making a lifelong connection. It just made sense :)

PRC: How have you seen the real estate market change since Covid hit?

QKT: If there is one sector that has been affected by Covid, it is the condo market in the core. With tourism on a hold and new short term rental rules in effect and international students not coming to the city for the school year, we have undeniably seen a change in condo values in both the sale and lease market but I am confident it will bounce back ! There are always exceptions though as we are still experiencing multiple offers in some buildings and pockets in the condo sector. The housing market on the other hand … in the pockets that my clients have me in right now, it is robust as ever and navigating through the new protocol and making sure that my clients and myself are safe is top priority.

PRC: What are your real estate predictions for Toronto for the next year?

QKT: It is hard to say with the Pandemic and phase 2 ramping up but I am sure that no matter what, Toronto will come out of this stronger and healthier than ever and that our real estate market in all aspects will bounce back. I've got faith in our city. It is the best place to call home.

Onward and upward is my MO and tackling each day at a time, loving the process of the search and the pace of the market is important.

I say this often … when a client loses a place in multiple offers, or something didn’t work out and they didn’t secure a home they thought they wanted, in the end … wherever they end up, will be the perfect place for them. Trust. The. Process.

PRC: What is your top tip for those looking to get into the Toronto real estate market?

QKT: Be patient. Find a great team that you trust to represent you (Sales Rep, Mortgage Broker, Lawyer) and come up with a plan. Stick to the plan (but it could change along the way and that is ok too) and execute it. I said it above and I'll say it again, trust the process. Sometimes it can get frustrating and you may wanna give up, but everything along the way that happens is happening for a reason and you will end up where you are meant to be.

PRC: What is your favourite Toronto neighbourhood and why?

QKT: Man oh man. There are so many great ones to chose from. I love so many for so many different reasons. I have explored our city through food, music and the arts and each neighbourhood has got its own thing going on.

But if I must pick my top 5. No specific order…

  • King West, because I became an adult here and its been home for 13 years now.
  • West Queen West cause its the coolest. And ill throw Ossington in with that cause they are same same but different.
  • Cabbage Town because of the Old Toronto history there and the homes are just dreamy.
  • Kensington Market cause of the diversity and its my go-to for produce and its got the best health food stores.
  • The Beach. Summer by the water is hard to beat.
  • Honourable mentions to — Danforth, Leslieville, St. ClairW, Roncies, Parkdale, Bloor West, Regent, King & Queen East, Chinatown, Riverdale, Little India, Moorepark, Summerhill and Trinity Bellwoods.

So basically, our whole city. Its just love all around.

    QKT:
Condo or House!??? (Nope I cant pick, love them both for too many reasons)
  • PRC: Walk-in Closet or Wine Cellar?
