Located in Midtown Toronto from Yonge + Summerhill to Farnham and west to Avenue, the lovely little area known as Summerhill is one of the most sought after neighbourhoods in the city (and yes, we are biased. It's our favourite hood as well!). Named after the 19th-century Regency Cottage Summer Hill House (located at the end of Woodlawn Ave E), Summerhill is a great family-friendly neighbourhood with a wealth of great places to eat, drink and shop. Looking for a great cup of coffee? Boxcar is the perfect spot for coffee and more. One side houses a little cafe (with an adorable back patio) and the other side has a bottle shop (with lot’s of great wine choices) and general store (think pastas from Baldassare!) One of four locations around the city, Boxcar is a Summerhill staple.

Things to Do

David A. Balfour Park + Rosehill Reservoir

Summerhill is lucky enough to border this beautiful reservoir and park that provides an entry way into the forested ravine with trails that lead to the Kay Gardener Beltline and Brickworks. Escape into the ravine for a hearty hike. The park itself has large open space, ornamental fountain, a gated garden retreat and a children’s playground. The hilly terrain also offers a great tobogganing hill in the winter!
